About me

Hi, I’m Katie — a passionate, force-free dog trainer dedicated to helping you and your dog build a strong, trusting relationship.

Animals have always been at the heart of my life. I grew up surrounded by creatures big and small, but my true connection has always been with dogs and horses. As an adult, I’ve owned and trained both, learning valuable lessons through hands-on experience.

Before starting my professional journey in dog training, I spent six months volunteering with Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest canine welfare charity. That time opened the door to a full-time role on their kennel team, where I worked for over four years. During my time there, I had the privilege of working with dogs of every breed, background, and behaviour issue you can imagine.

I witnessed firsthand the challenges that can lead to dogs being surrendered—many of which are preventable with the right support and guidance. That experience, combined with my background in horse behaviour, ignited a passion for ethical, relationship-based training that continues to grow today.

I’m committed to ongoing learning and professional development. I regularly enrol in courses and stay updated with the latest research in animal behaviour and force-free training techniques to ensure I’m offering you the very best.

Whether you're just starting out with your pup or looking to tackle more complex behavioural issues, I’m here to help you build a relationship based on trust, respect, and understanding.

Let’s work together to help your dog become a confident, happy companion — and to help you become the calm, trusted guide they need.

Train the Dog You Have

Our Focus

One of the most important lessons I share with every client is this: train the dog you have, not the dog you're told you should have.

In today’s society, there’s a lot of pressure to have the “perfect” dog — calm, obedient, always friendly, never reactive. But just like people, dogs are individuals with their own personalities, needs, and challenges. Comparing your dog to an unrealistic standard only leads to frustration, for both of you.

I’m here to help you understand and work with the dog in front of you — not change them into something they’re not, but support them in becoming the best version of themselves. Whether your dog is nervous, excitable, reactive, or just a bit quirky, they deserve patience, kindness, and training that meets them where they are.

Progress doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from connection, trust, and compassionate guidance — and that’s exactly what I aim to provide.
